Enrolling in the Teacher Credential
| 1. View the three introductory modules on the website. | 2. Submit a Letter of Intent | The Letter of Intent is available for download here: Fill it out and fax it to: Mario Mokarzel, Grant Specialist Fax# 512-245-8151 Or you can scan and email the document to: aecredential@txstate.edu You will receive a confirmation email that your documents were received. |

Submit a Letter of Support | The Letter of Support is available for download here: Fill it out, have your Supervisor sign it and fax it to: Mario Mokarzel, Grant Specialist Fax# 512-245-8151 Or you can scan and email the document to: aecredential@txstate.edu You will receive a confirmation email that your documents were received. |
| 4. Get a CredITS account Texas LEARNS manages the CredITS system | In order to earn your Credential you will need access to the Credential Information Tracking System (CredITS). 1. Go to: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/webappaccess/AppRef.htm Click on the “TEAL” Button. Follow the attached directions. Getting an account in TEAL/CredITS is a 3-step process. a. You will request a TEAL account. The approval for this account will be automatically emailed to the email address you provided. b. Then you will request a CredITS account through TEAL. c. Finally, your supervisor will need to send an “approval email” to laguirre@hcde-texas.org to approval your access to CredITS.
1a. If you already have a TEASE/TEAMS Account You still need to get a TEAL/CredITS account.
2. Your supervisor will also need to send an email to Laura to Laura Aguirre at Texas LEARNS to verify that you should be granted access. Laura’s email address is: laguirre@hcde-texas.org Once you supervisor has sent the email and approved access, you will receive an email confirming access.

| 5. Confirm access to Credits | Once you receive your Username and Password for CredITS, Send an email to Mary Lorenz, Project Coordinator “I now have access to the CredITS system. My user name is:_____________” Once the emails from step 5 and 6 are received, you will be enrolled in the PDPW and receive two emails: 1. From Credential staff with directions on how to access and use TRACS 2. from TRACS with your NetID (your email address) and a password for TRACS.

| 6. Decide on what type of PDPW workshop you wish to complete. | All Credential participants are required to complete a Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW). You need to decide if you wish to complete it in person or online. Send an email to Mary Lorenz, Project Coordinator “I wish to take my PDPW workshop (online / Face to face)“ This workshop is the first step in initiating the Teacher Adult Education Credential process and is required to be eligible to participate in the Credential. This workshop is designed to help teachers to consider new perspectives on professional development while being provided tools they can adapt to put ideas into action. Teachers will learn to be thoughtful and reflective about professional development experiences that they are using in their classroom communities and their own teaching styles. Once the emails from step 5 and 6 are received, you will be enrolled in the PDPW and receive two emails: 1. From Credential staff with directions on how to access and use TRACS, 2. from TRACS with your NetID (your email address) and a password for TRACS.

| 6a. If you want a face to face PDPW |
You can attend the PDPW workshop at any GREAT Center! If there is not a PDPW on your GREAT Center’s calendar, contact aecredential@txstate.edu and we will work with your GREAT Center to arrange one once there are a sufficient number of requests. |

If you want the online PDPW | E-mail a request to register for online Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW) Send to: aecredential@txstate.edu Include the following information (copy and paste): I [Insert name] would like to register for the online Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW). First Name: Last Name: Email: Phone#: Program Name: Supervisors name: Supervisor's Email: Supervisors Phone: In order to work in the online Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW) you will need access to two different online systems:
**Once the documents listed above have been verified as received by the Credential Project staff, and your access to CredITS has been verified, you will be enrolled in the online PDPW. Once the emails from step 5 and 6 are received, you will be enrolled in the PDPW and receive two emails: 1. From Credential staff with directions on how to access and use TRACS, 2. from TRACS with your NetID (your email address) and a password for TRACS. Then you can get started on your online course. |
| 7. Complete the Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW) | In order to receive your certificate for completing PDPW (face to face or online) you must complete and properly upload the PDPW assignment into CredITS and send the professional development Plan (PD Plan) to our offices.

Once this is completed and received in our offices you will receive a certificate via email stating that you have completed the PDPW. |
| 8. Begin Writing Reflections | You can then begin writing Reflections and submitting them in CredITS in order to earn points towards your Credential. If you wish we can arrange for a Reflection Writing Workshop at your location for a group of 10 or more teachers. This work is a great opportunity to jump start your working towards earning your Teacher Credential. In this workshop you will have access to guidance from an experienced Credential earning teacher who will guide you in how to write excellent reflections that will earn credit towards your Credential. You will also network with other teachers who are working towards their Credential and form a strong group for peer support to guide you through the process. To request a Reflection Writing Workshop have your supervisor send an email to: aecredential@txstate.edu or call (512) 245-6329. A Credential Staff person will contact your supervisor to plan your workshops and answer any questions. |
