Project INTER-ALT (Interactively Advancing Literacy through Technology) investigates learning technologies that promote engaged student learning in Texas adult education and literacy programs. Project INTER-ALT also provides technical assistance to Texas adult education programs in developing their technology plans.

The project provides professional development and technical assistance in putting technology in place and maximizing its use for instruction through a series of on-site, regional, and statewide trainings. Many of the statewide trainings are conducted through the Texas Education Telecommunications Network, TETN, which is available to all adult educators via their closest Education Service Center.

Project INTER-ALT is a member of the Adult Education Professional Development Consortium, and is funded through the Texas Education Agency Division of Adult and Continuing Education. INTER-ALT is housed in the Center for Initiatives in Education, College of Education, Texas State University-San Marcos.  Texas State is a member of the Texas State University System.
